living in abandoned house, we are 2 senior women.?

Question by chemistkat: living in abandoned house, we are 2 senior women.?
with cost of living, we moved to an abandoned house. It had been empty 5 years, and had some damage, which I repaired. The neighbors were happy because it was a dope hang-out, and was run down. I repaired the damage, cleaned the yard and moved in with my elderly mother. we are living on 1,500.00 a month, S.S., and this arrangement let us live better, and not have to beg help from social services all the time. now I have found that the owner died, and left the house to no one. we live in san antonio Texas.there are some back taxes as well. the house is paid for, otherwise. how can I get legal title to the house? We would like to stay, and when my mother dies, I will be left with an income of 800.00 a month.

Indians don’t really understand how people can own land. A human body does occupied a space. If people can own space you in. Does it mean you have no right to live?

I heard that some senior citizens sometimes are found living on cat or dog food cuz they can’t afford grocery?

Question by Da Austrian Oak: I heard that some senior citizens sometimes are found living on cat or dog food cuz they can’t afford grocery?
I remember once when I was a little kid, on a dare from my older brothers, I ate some dry dog food of our dog’s. It wasn’t all bad. Heheh.

I’m not in a dire situation here where I can’t afford groceries. If I was, I would have gotten rid of paying an internet service provider for online access a long time ago.

But I was just wondering if anyone knows if you could live on cat food or dog food, wet or dry or both? Do you think you’d get enough nutrients from cans of that stuff?

Just curious. Let’s hope I or no one else has to ever be in that situation, but I’ve heard from more than one person about people doing it.

Actually, I think cat food if relatively high in fat, so if you needed something to sustain you for a while, I think it would do the trick. I’m not sure you would be healthy, but you’d probably live!

As a Senior Citizen do you prefer to live in an area with other seniors?

Question by joy: As a Senior Citizen do you prefer to live in an area with other seniors?
Or is a family neighborhood more to your liking? Would you rather live in a 55 and over apartment or condo, or rent or buy in a neighborhood/building with families and children around? I can recall the sweet older neighbors who loved to see the kids come around, as well as the “crabby old folks” who yelled at us for getting too close to their yard.

I live in NYC. I also have a daughter in high school here. I think NYC is a fine place for teenagers.

BUT, as a parent, I wouldn’t let you do this either.

1) Who would you live with? You are too young to live alone in such a complex city. It’s not like you grew up here and knew the way the City works. And, even if you did grow up here, you are too young to live alone here.

2) WHERE would you live? This is an extremely expensive place to live in and housing costs are through the moon. Do you really think you and your friends can afford the rent on a NYC apartment?

3) High school admissions are EXTREMELY complicated here. And senior year is a terrible time to try to enter. All the good high schools pretty much require that you enter by 10th grade. Those who come in 12th grade get stuck in the worst of the worst – dangerous schools where no real education is going on.

Wait till you are really old enough to do this. What is your hurry?

Unless each apartment has a spot numbered for their unit, the parking is up for grabs. That’s always something to consider when you look to rent a place.

Would you go and live somewhere else your senior year?

Question by yellow birds: Would you go and live somewhere else your senior year?
I kind of want to move to my moms friend’s house. They live in a different town about 2 hrs away. I love my school but lately I just want to get away from stress. I have a broken heart and don’t want to see this guy anymore at all. So I was thinking that I might be able to move away and experience a new school and meet new people. Would you move away if you had only one yr left?

Best answer:

Answer by Reva S
To be honest I wouldn’t. But that’s my situation. I have lifetime friends there, I love all the people at my school, my crush goes there, and love where I live. If I didn’t have those things than I might move.

Doing the job of a Senior Associate, but being paid for an Administrative Assistant – Help?

Question by K: Doing the job of a Senior Associate, but being paid for an Administrative Assistant – Help?
Under company classifications and job duties, I am performing tasks of a Senior Associate and have clerical staff that is trained and reports to me. Since the position was originally posted as Administrative Assistant and I have been given duties of another person which the position was not filled, they decided not to fill it and justify it as “other duties assigned”.

I have asked to be reevaluated for my job duties and given compensation by personnel. the employer agreed that I was in fact a Senior Associate, but took my state funded cost of living raises (past 5 years) into consideration and just added on 00 more a year to put me in the minimum salary of a Senior Associate.

I believe that they should have started my salary at the base pay of an Associate, then added in my cost of living state raises…otherwise when you subtract those state wide raises, I am not even in the pay bracket for my duties and title.

It’s like my tenure is their advantage.

What are some suggestion?

Resign and go somewhere that pays you what you’re worth?
