What’s the average cost of living in a 2 bdr apartment with a roommate?

Question by Jac: What’s the average cost of living in a 2 bdr apartment with a roommate?
I want to move into an apartment with a friend but we are not sure about the cost. We wonder if we’d be able to afford it and still have money left over. We are also curious to know how much money we’d have to make in a job to afford it aswell. Also if it’d cost much more for pets, becuase I’m taking my cat with me. We also want to know if we’d have enough to actually eat food and not PB ‘n J for every meal; have a car and such. To add on to everything, we’ll be in our senior year of highschool. I can graduate early and also leave school early so I might be able to have a longer hour job. We’re just curious to see if all our dreaming is a waste of time or if it’s actually plausible. . .Thanks.

In my county and state, there is a Power Assistance program for the low income, made known to me by my case worker with the federal Department of Family and Children Services [DFCS, pronounced DeeFax] in my county. You might also go to the Habitat for Humanity site and see their guidelines, to United Way.org, for their various agencies, Woodsmen of the World for their volunteers, your local places of worship for any outreach programs, the Salvation Army and the Office on Aging.

living in abandoned house, we are 2 senior women.?

Question by chemistkat: living in abandoned house, we are 2 senior women.?
with cost of living, we moved to an abandoned house. It had been empty 5 years, and had some damage, which I repaired. The neighbors were happy because it was a dope hang-out, and was run down. I repaired the damage, cleaned the yard and moved in with my elderly mother. we are living on 1,500.00 a month, S.S., and this arrangement let us live better, and not have to beg help from social services all the time. now I have found that the owner died, and left the house to no one. we live in san antonio Texas.there are some back taxes as well. the house is paid for, otherwise. how can I get legal title to the house? We would like to stay, and when my mother dies, I will be left with an income of 800.00 a month.

He is a wonderful big yellow lab that everyone loves. I was thinking that maybe around the holidays I could spread all the love he has to the elderly(even childrens wards if need be).Has anyone done this? Or work for a home? Any help would be appreciated!!
Well he is fully trained since he was a puppy. He is 6 now but still has so much love. Just not trained for that sort of thing. Thanks for the answers so far!!!

Dogs that do that are trained from puppies.
There are schools that work with the puppies and people that help train them in public situations.
Since your dog is not a puppy the dog can not be in the program.

Does a Living Trust need to be signed by a lawyer?

Question by jenhatesnick: Does a Living Trust need to be signed by a lawyer?
Our family is having a huge problem right now. One of my aunts had my grandmother sign a living trust less than 3 months after my grandfather passed away. In the Living Trust she gives my aunt all access to her money. My aunt lives a very “high maintenance” life and we’re all worried she’s going to drain my grandmother’s money and there won’t be enough left to properly take care of my grandmother for the remainder of her life. She was recently diagnosed with alzheimers. I received a copy of the Living Trust and noticed it was only signed by 3 witnesses and my grandmother. One of the witnesses was the notary. Is this legal? Or should a lawyer have sat down with her and explained to her what she was signing? Also, on the Power of Attorney given to my Aunt, my Aunt signed as the Agent. Wouldn’t that be a conflict of interest? She also noted her profession as a “Senior Paralegal” when in fact she has never been certified as a Paralegal.

One thing you seriously need to consider is whether your grandmother is legally fit to sign this document. In cases where the signer is a minor, mentally ill or cognitively impaired (alzheimers), the document, even if signed, may not be legit. But, you don’t want to wait until your grandmother passes to do something about it.

It really sounds like your aunt is up to no good. Get a lawyer IMMEDIATELY!!!
