How to Prove State Residency if LivIng with Relatives?

Question by Brandon: How to Prove State Residency if LivIng with Relatives?
I’m movIng to Texas this summer before my senior year of high school. I want to get in-state tuition for college next year. I know it takes a year to establish residency, but I will need to find a way to prove it.

The thing is, I’m moving in with my relatives, so I won’t have a utility bill or anything to prove residency.

How will I prove residency in one year if I’m going to live with relatives?

You might be able to get a state ID card. You will probably get a student ID from your high school, and your Texas address will be on your school records.

Reason and logic dictate that if you lack the funds for luxuries, you won’t be buying any. Why does the answerer have to be old? Anyone can suggest buying house brand groceries, shopping the sales, using coupons, visiting resale shops and simply consuming less (less energy, less, food, less gas, etc.)

Question by sunshineonmyshoulder: Does anyone know about WORKING in Assisted Living homes for the elderly?
I’ve heard it’s a nice place to work and pay is descent – I’m a Home Health Aid now (mostly work with people of all ages who have been in bad car accidents). I’ve heard that I don’t need to have cna certification- I have all the training and several year experience in the health field. Any information about Assisted Living would be nice.

Q&A: What’s the best way to tell an aging parent that it’s time to move into an assisted living facility?

Question by AJP: What’s the best way to tell an aging parent that it’s time to move into an assisted living facility?
She’s almost 91 years old, and has all her marbles. But she is having trouble caring for herself in her own apartment. She has insisted in the past that she won’t go into assisted living because of the connotations of that kind of place, but she can no longer care for herself. She knows it, too.

Best answer:

Answer by dzr0001
i would try to convince her that they can take better care of her than you or herself can, and also let her know that she still deserves the best of care and that the assisted living can provide that for her.

Nursing homes and Assisted Living Facilities Jobs?

Question by Laura H: Nursing homes and Assisted Living Facilities Jobs?
I would like to apply at a nursing home or an assisted living facility but I was wondering what kind of job I can apply for with no experience through one of these facilities? and or what kind of training would they have me go through to get a job?
I am in college majoring in Nursing and Ultrasound. I am just looking for a job to get my feet wet.

Best answer:

Answer by justwondering
Just go apply. The turn over rate is high so there is a good chance they are looking for someone. In some places the training is skimpy. If you really want to get in to the health care industry you might consider college for practical nursing or taking it further to become a registered nurse. Those jobs pay better.
