Question by Moey: Question about beginning a job in graphic design?
I’m currently 17 and I’m still in highschool. I know a lot about CSS and HTML, I practically live on the computer and have been playing around with coding and designing as a hobby for years now. I grew up using freewebs and other free hosting sites, and I am also pretty much 100% photoshop literate.
I see job openings all the time where I’m from, saying that they are seeking inexperienced junior level developers to assist with client projects. They say that the requirements are just some HTML/CSS skills, and an overall idea of how to create and modify graphics and images in PhotoShop. I have always wanted to consider these types of jobs, but I’m always worried about that they will expect of me? I don’t know much about scripts, and I have only really created fun blogging type websites for me and my friend’s personal use, so what will I be asked to do in these kind of jobs? What will they expect of me?
Also when it comes to designing a portfolio, or showing examples, does anyone know of some websites proving tips and such? Thanks !

Best is give them a call and describe your situation. I am also 17 and work at a computer repair shop. It all depends on what they are looking for really. Maby they are looking for collage level students who are majoring in Comp sci or graphics design. you will never know until you call and ask. No hard done doing that, theres nothing to loose.
