Why are there Jewish Nursing Homes?

Question by jon l: Why are there Jewish Nursing Homes?
Seriously why cannot Jewish people go to regular nursing homes? Why are there not Hindu or Buddhist nursing homes? What is the purpose of having a Jewish nursing home, how is it different from a regular nursing home?

    Considering the generation in which the current population of retired jews comes from, there would be a lot of hostility between them and the other white Americans.

    because of dietetic law { kosher food }

    Because of Kosher food, which would be too complicated to get in a regular nursing home. One home with a kosher kitchen can make it easy for lots of elderly Jews.
